An assortment of Island styles that range from Reggae and Dancehall of Jamaica, to Puerto Rico's Reggaeton and Trinidad's Soca. As a bonus, each track is clearly labeled to indicate its style.
Styles to be featured on each monthly issue of Caribbean Series include (but are not limited to):
Reggae, an African-Caribbean style of music developed on the island of Jamaica;
Reggaeton, a Spanish language genre of Reggae that features distinct hip-hop influences;
Soca, an often bawdy style of island music that combines the lilting sound of Trinidad's calypso with the signature rhythms of India;
and Dancehall, a sub-genre of Jamaican reggae characterized by a DJ rapping over raw and danceable reggae music.
